Stop Guessing

Your labs hold
the answers.

Most standard bloodwork only tells you whether you have a diagnosable disease. Functional lab testing tells you how well your body is actually working — and where it's struggling before things break down.

Live Wiser is primarily a telehealth service. I combine comprehensive functional labs with a personalized care plan you can follow from home. Functional medicine works best alongside conventional care, not instead of it.

Common Concerns I Address

  • Persistent fatigue that sleep doesn't fix
  • Unexplained weight gain or difficulty losing weight
  • Digestive issues and bloating
  • Blood sugar imbalances
  • Elevated cholesterol or cardiovascular risk markers
  • Thyroid dysfunction or suspected thyroid issues
  • Chronic inflammation
  • Nutrient deficiencies
  • Low energy, motivation, or drive
  • Symptoms your doctor has investigated but hasn't been able to explain

What’s Included in Your Initial Consult

Before we meet, I review your complete health history, symptom questionnaire, and any labs or provider notes you’ve shared — so our time together starts with real context, not a blank slate. After your visit, I combine my intake notes with your session notes into a personalized document outlining recommended labs, supplements, lifestyle adjustments, and anything worth discussing with your prescribing physician.

Investment

  • Initial Consult (60 min)$400
  • Follow-Up Visit (60 min)$180
  • Follow-Up Visit (30 min)$90

Visit frequency typically begins around every 4 weeks and tapers as your protocol stabilizes. Most patients transition to maintenance visits every 6–12 months.

What I Test

Comprehensive panels,
functional interpretation.

Comprehensive Metabolic Panel

Blood sugar dysregulation is frequently subclinical — it won't show up as a diagnosis, but it affects how you feel every day. These tests can show how your metabolism is actually functioning, not just whether it's broken.

  • Fasting glucose & insulin
  • HbA1c
  • Liver enzymes
  • Kidney function
  • Electrolytes

Thyroid & Hormone Panel

TSH alone doesn't tell the full story of thyroid function. I look at conversion markers and antibodies that standard panels typically don't include, plus key sex hormones that affect energy, mood, and metabolism.

  • TSH, Free T3, Free T4
  • Reverse T3
  • Thyroid antibodies
  • DHEA-S
  • Testosterone (total & free)

Cardiovascular & Inflammation

Standard cholesterol panels miss the markers that actually predict cardiovascular risk. I test particle size, inflammation, and homocysteine — the numbers that matter before something goes wrong.

  • Advanced lipid panel
  • hs-CRP
  • Homocysteine
  • ApoB

Nutrient & Micronutrient Status

Deficiencies in key vitamins and minerals are among the most common — and most overlooked — causes of fatigue, mood issues, and poor recovery.

  • Vitamin D
  • B12 & folate
  • Magnesium (RBC)
  • Iron & ferritin
  • Zinc & selenium

How I Help

A complete approach
to living well.

Functional Lab Analysis

Most standard bloodwork tells you whether something is wrong enough to treat. Functional labs tell you how well your body is actually working — and where it's quietly struggling before symptoms become diagnoses.

  • Labs ordered based on your specific symptoms and history, not a one-size-fits-all checklist
  • Functional reference ranges, not just lab normals
  • Root-cause interpretation of your results
  • Clear, plain-language explanation of findings
  • Actionable next steps based on your data

Personalized Optimization Plan

Your labs, your symptoms, and your goals come together in a plan built specifically for you. No generic protocols. No guesswork.

  • Evidence-based supplement protocols
  • Nutrition guidance tailored to your labs
  • Sleep and stress optimization strategies
  • Lifestyle recommendations you can actually implement
  • Guidance on when to loop in your existing providers

Ongoing Support & Accountability

Your first visit gives you a complete picture of where you stand. What happens next is up to you — some patients want a full optimization protocol, others want to track key markers over time. I build around your goals and your pace.

  • Lab retesting at intervals that make sense for your situation
  • Protocol adjustments based on what the data shows
  • Regular check-ins if you want active guidance
  • Flexibility to step up or scale back as your needs change
  • A provider who knows your history, not a rotating telehealth stranger

Train Wiser: Lab-Guided Fitness Optimization

You're already putting in the work. Labs tell you whether your body is actually recovering, building, and adapting — or just grinding itself down.

  • Identify what's limiting your progress or recovery
  • Optimize sleep, hormones, and inflammation for performance
  • Know your real numbers: cortisol, testosterone, ferritin, and more
  • Built for consistent exercisers, not competitive athletes
  • A smarter foundation for the effort you're already making

Common Questions

What to expect

New to functional health? Here are answers to the questions I hear most often.

View all FAQs

How is functional medicine different from conventional medicine?

Conventional medicine typically focuses on diagnosing and treating disease. Functional medicine focuses on identifying and addressing the root causes of symptoms — often before a diagnosable disease develops. I look at the full picture: labs, lifestyle, environment, and history.

Do I need a referral?

No referral needed. You can book a consult directly. I'm happy to work alongside your existing providers and can help you identify what to bring to those conversations.

Will my insurance cover functional lab testing?

Some standard labs may be covered depending on your plan. Specialty functional panels are often self-pay. I'll discuss testing options and costs during your consultation so there are no surprises.

How long before I see results?

Many patients notice meaningful improvements in energy, sleep, and mood within the first 4–8 weeks. Deeper metabolic changes take longer — typically 3–6 months of consistent care. I track your progress with follow-up labs so you can see the data, not just feel the difference.
