Cosmetic acupuncture that treats your face and your physiology in one 90-minute session — facial and whole-body acupuncture, light therapy, gua sha, and cupping, combined.
What It Is
Cosmetic acupuncture uses ultra-fine needles placed strategically in the face and body to stimulate collagen and elastin production, improve microcirculation, and address the internal imbalances that accelerate skin aging — performed personally by a licensed acupuncturist, not an esthetician trained in a facial-acupuncture technique.
Unlike injectables that freeze or fill, cosmetic acupuncture works by activating your skin's own repair mechanisms. Results are gradual, natural-looking, and cumulative — your face looks like you, just more rested and radiant.
Because I treat the whole person — not just the face — I also address the hormonal, digestive, and stress-related factors that directly affect skin quality. This is especially meaningful for women in perimenopause, when hormonal shifts show up visibly in the skin.

Why every session includes more than facial needling
Most cosmetic acupuncture is exactly what it sounds like — needles in the face. I include whole-body points because what shows up on your skin is often downstream of what's happening systemically. Light therapy, gua sha, and cupping aren't optional extras here — they're part of how the session supports circulation and lymphatic drainage on top of the acupuncture itself. You're getting one integrated 90-minute treatment, not a facial with acupuncture added on.
What to Expect
Every session begins with a brief check-in. I assess your skin and discuss your goals, tailoring point selection to what's going on for you that day.
I begin with acupuncture points on the body — hands, arms, legs — selected based on your presentation that day: stress load, sleep, cycle stage.
Ultra-fine needles are placed in the face and neck — by a licensed acupuncturist with 25 years of experience — to stimulate collagen and address fine lines, puffiness, and uneven tone.
Low-level light therapy runs while the facial needles are in place, supporting the skin's repair response.
You rest for 20–30 minutes while the needles work. Most patients fall asleep.
Needles are removed and I finish with gua sha and facial cupping to support circulation and lymphatic drainage.
Session length: 90 minutes. Plan to arrive a few minutes early for your first visit. Wear comfortable clothing and avoid heavy makeup.
Post-Treatment Care
What you do in the 24–48 hours after treatment matters. Following these guidelines helps your skin get the most out of each session.
Skip hot showers, saunas, steam rooms, and intense exercise for the first 24 hours. Your skin is in active repair mode and heat can cause unnecessary flushing.
Use a gentle cleanser and moisturizer only. Avoid active ingredients (retinol, AHAs, BHAs, vitamin C serums) for 24–48 hours post-treatment.
Let your skin breathe. The micro-channels created by the needles are still open — applying makeup too soon can introduce bacteria.
Drink plenty of water in the 24 hours following treatment. Hydration supports your skin's repair process and helps reduce any mild post-treatment inflammation.
Your skin may be slightly more sensitive after treatment. Apply mineral SPF 30+ if going outdoors and avoid direct sun for 24 hours.
Small bruises at needle sites are normal and typically resolve in 3–5 days. Applying arnica gel and a cool compress to the area can help.
