Medical-grade microneedling paired with whole-body acupuncture and light therapy in every session — because your skin isn't just reacting to what's on it, it's reacting to what's happening in you.
What It Is
Microneedling — also called collagen induction therapy — uses a medical-grade device to create thousands of controlled micro-injuries in the skin. Your body responds by producing new collagen and elastin, remodeling the skin from within.
The result: smoother texture, reduced scarring, smaller pores, and firmer skin — without heat, lasers, or significant downtime.
At Wiser Health, microneedling is performed with medical-grade equipment and customized serums selected for your specific skin concerns. I adjust depth, speed, and technique based on your skin type and goals — not a one-size protocol.

Acne scarring and melasma often require more than 4 sessions for full results. This will be discussed at your assessment.
Why every session includes more than needling
Most microneedling appointments are exactly the device and nothing else. Every session here includes LED light therapy and full-body acupuncture alongside the microneedling itself — not add-ons, but part of how the treatment supports collagen response, reduces inflammation, and speeds recovery. You're getting an integrated treatment, not microneedling with extras tacked on.
What to Expect
Every session pairs facial microneedling with whole-body acupuncture and light therapy in the same visit — treating the skin and what's driving its aging at the same time.
Quick review of your skin since your last visit — sun exposure, product changes, sensitivities — so today's session is built around what your skin needs right now, not a fixed template.
Skin is thoroughly cleansed and inspected before we begin.
Topical numbing cream goes on first. While it takes effect, I place acupuncture needles on the body — not the treatment area — at points selected for what's going on for you that day: stress, sleep, cycle stage. Needles stay in through the full microneedling treatment, addressing what's driving your skin's aging from the inside while we treat the surface.
Low-level light therapy runs during the numbing window, calibrated to your skin type, supporting the skin's repair response before the microneedling even starts.
Using a medical-grade device with hyaluronic acid serum, I create thousands of micro-channels calibrated to your skin's needs and tolerance — acupuncture needles stay in place throughout.
Needles removed, calming serum applied, aftercare instructions provided with take-home serum.
Session length: 60–75 minutes. Arrive 5 minutes early. Pause retinoids and exfoliants 3–7 days before your visit (timing depends on strength) — see full pre-treatment guidelines.
Post-Treatment Care
Microneedling results depend heavily on what you do afterward. These guidelines protect your skin and maximize your results.
Redness, mild swelling, and a sunburn-like sensation are normal and expected — this is your skin's healing response in action.
Full-strength retinoids, AHAs, BHAs, and vitamin C wait 5–7 days minimum — even if redness has cleared sooner, your skin's rebuild phase isn't finished. In between: pure hyaluronic acid serum immediately, 100% mineral SPF 30+ after 24 hours, and a gentle ceramide moisturizer after 48 hours.
The micro-channels created during treatment are still open. Applying makeup too soon introduces bacteria and can cause breakouts or irritation.
Your skin is significantly more photosensitive after microneedling. Apply 100% mineral SPF 30+ daily post-treatment, even on cloudy days.
Skip intense exercise, saunas, steam rooms, and hot showers for 24 hours. Heat increases inflammation and can prolong redness.
Light flaking or peeling may occur 3–5 days after treatment as your skin sheds and renews. Do not pick or exfoliate — let it happen naturally.
Drink plenty of water in the days following treatment. Hydration supports the collagen-building process and helps your skin heal faster.
Pools, hot tubs, and natural bodies of water introduce bacteria and chemicals that can irritate healing skin.
